Janitorial Express, a janitorial supplies distributor based in London, has recently boosted their fight against plastic waste with a range of new products designed by Greenspeed. This fantastic addition to their already extensive catalogue promises a highly effective clean, but with less harmful effects on the environment. The packaging is made from recycled and plant plastics, reducing the amount of plastic going to landfill. But perhaps more impressive, is that many of the natural and sustainable cleaning solutions actually benefit aquatic life if they enter the water column. Janitorial Express are also stocking Greenspeed Microfibre cloths, which have been designed not to shed harmful micro-plastics into the ocean.
Living in a city, it can be hard to see the real effects of micro and single-use plastics, so in light of this new range of products, Janitorial Express supported a member of their team in volunteering at a Turtle Rehabilitation Sanctuary in Cairns, Australia. The sanctuary rescues and rehabilitates wild turtles living in the Great Barrier Reef, many of which are at the sanctuary due to the ingestion of plastics. These plastics cause a build-up of air under the shell preventing turtles from diving for food or avoiding danger. Many starve, are hit by boats or eaten by predators leading to a huge reduction in numbers.
Managing Director Mr Gary Fage commented on the release of the new product: ‘It’s imperative that we all come together to make changes that will determine the future of this planet. Like ourselves, a large proportion of our customer base strive to reduce harmful effects on the environment and we are delighted to be able to assist by offering effective, sustainable and eco-friendly products.’
Offering a full range of effective detergents and accessories Greenspeed have certainly covered all bases, having Nordic Swan, Eco Label and Cradle to Cradle accreditations. To find out more please visit their website at www.janitorialexpress.london or call 020 7700 3322.
