Considerate Hoteliers member the four star Imperial Hotel, Llandudno, has gained a second AA Rosette for the high quality dining at Chantrey’s Restaurant, ranking it now one of the finest restaurants in North Wales.

At Chantrey’s diners can enjoy not only the panoramic views across the Bay but also a seasonal menu that creatively showcases Welsh produce to its best, which was rated by the AA Inspector as “impressive in concept, accuracy and skill”.

This great achievement is one that Geoff Lofthouse, general manager of the hotel and Arwel Jones, executive head chef are immensely proud of. They  firmly believe that the accolade is due to the flair and imaginative cuisine as well as the hotel’s strict policy on using local, seasonal and market fresh produce.  The Imperial Hotel. Llandudno, has integrated CSR policies into its operations since 1998, making it a pioneer in the area of responsible business practices within the hospitality industry.

Both Geoff and Arwel are passionate about using Welsh produce.  They have long recognised that Welsh food – from unique cheese and Welsh lamb and beef to fresh fish and seafood – is superior in quality and taste.  They recognise the importance of being able to trace produce back to the farm or source, so diners are guaranteed full traceability, especially for all meats which must also have the highest ethical criteria with regard to feed and rearing.

Arwel says;  “Our produce suppliers are all local family run firms that believe like us that local is best.  Our fresh fish where possible is caught locally so we’re not only offering diners the freshest local seafood possible but we’re also helping sustain our local fishing fleet in North Wales, and it is ensuring that the growers, farmers and fishermen survive for the future which is just as crucial to us.”
